JOIN US FOR A DAY AT THE CAPITOL - FEBRUARY 6TH, 2024
This will be a chance for residents to join forces with residents from other parks in the state to meet directly with state legislators about the Residents' Bill of Rights, hold a press conference in the Capitol to spread our message to newspaper and TV reporters, and possibly testify at a committee hearing on some of the legislation we anticipate will be filed this year with proposed improvements to state law covering manufactured home parks.

We are a coalition of residents and allies who are committed to providing a voice to residents of manufactured home communities across Iowa. When we join together, we are stronger. Residents and activists who are organizing to protect our neighborhoods and affordable housing are finding ways to fight back against predatory business practices in Iowa’s manufactured home communities.

The Iowa Manufactured Home Residents' Network began in our communities and neighborhoods. We started by meeting with our neighbors and identifying our issues and goals. When our concerns weren't recognized by park owners, we reached out to local and state elected officials and community allies. We've gained statewide media coverage and made important progress, but the work isn't done yet.

We believe all residents have the right to affordable housing in safe, healthy neighborhoods. We have joined together to form and support local resident associations, give residents a strong voice, hold owners accountable to legal standards and fair business practices, and engage our legislators to pass laws that protect residents and sustain affordable housing.
